With a drive to carry forward its services for the betterment of the society, BGGI organized World International Women Day in collaboration with Deputy Commissioner Office, Sangrur. The programme was inaugurated by lamp lightening ceremony by Mr. Rajinder Singh Batra ADC Sangrur and S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions .On this occasion Mr. Pawan Kumar CDPO Malerkotla, Mrs. Rakesh Phawa CDPO Bhawanigarh, Executive Member Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha were present. Mr. Rajinder Singh Batra said that it is essential that for the progress of the society the women should not be discriminated and the society should avoid female foeticide. S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions said that the main aim of today’s function is to raise global awareness among the society and avoid discrimination in context to women of the society. He said that for saving the girl child, single girl child fellowship is being given to the girls in BGGI. On the start of the function CDPO, Malerkotla Mr. Pawan Kumar gave presentation on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. He said that by giving education to the girls we can keep a balance in society as future depends on them. On this occasion, Nariender Kala Manch, Faridkot presented a play on ‘Chiriya Da Chamba’ on the theme of female feticide. Distinguished women achievers were also rewarded for their commendable contributions in diverse fields.

VAISAKHI CELEBRATION ORGANISED IN BHAI GURDAS GROUP OF INSTITITUTIONS

In the eve of Vaisakhi Bhai Gurdas Group of Colleges organized a Star Show in the college auditorium in which, the rising star and voice India’s runner up Parakhjeet and Jaskaran Singh cast a magical spell over the audience with their melodious voice. Chairman BGGI, S. Hakam Singh Jawandha congratulated all the staff members, students and Punjabis on this festival. He said that Vaisakhi is our national festival. The unity and celebration among all the students despite the cultural differences in context of the state, religion and gender were avoided by coming to combined celebrations. The Directors and Principals of the various colleges of Bhai Gurdas Group were present. D.S.P. Sandeep Wadera, Sambodh Gupta, Civil Surgeon Sangrur, Sh. Sarabjeet Singh Rekhi, and Chairperson of Sahara Foundation were also present on this occasion.
Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha, Executive Member & Dean Colleges, BGGI, and Dr.Tanuja Srivastva, Director of BGIET congratulated all on the eve of Vaisakhi. They congratulated Parakhjeet on his achievement and honoured him specifically.

Student develops a compressed air vehicle engine

The students of Mechanical Engineering once again proved their mettle by developing a compressed air vehicle engine that runs on air & requires no fuel in the form of diesel and petrol. The running cost of the vehicle is bare minimum & it is eco-friendly. This development can act as a boon for the fuel starved economy of our nation

The students of BGPC prepare a bale knotter

The students of Mechanical Engineering prepared an environment friendly bale knotter which can be used by the farmers as a post harvesting tool. It helps in forming bales of the stubble left behind after harvesting of crops. With the help of bale knotter, the farmer can easily clear his field for the new crop. This tool can be connected to a tractor and is eco friendly as the farmer no longer needs to burn the stubble which causes environmental pollution.
