Online faculty development program me through NITTTR at BGIET
Recognized as one of the best learning educational institutes of Malwa region, Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions has received much admiration for fulfilling its pledge by transforming the lives of its students into a successful future. Continuing this trend, BGIET organized a Five-day Online ICT Program on Effective Curriculum Implementation .This FDP was organized by Curriculum Development Centre of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh (NITTTR). Online inaugural ceremony and valedictory ceremony was held keeping go- green revolution in mind.
This online workshop was an opportunity to understand the Effectiveness of Curriculum Development and its proper implementation while educating students. With Video conference and the knowledge of research experts, the teachers engrossed maximum enthusiasm from this FDP and made this event livelier with their interaction with the speakers. This FDP was an example of go-green revolution with less expenditure and more knowledge. The Mr. S.K. Gupta (office in-charge) along with Mr. P.K. Singla updated faculty members in Project Planning, Organizing and Evaluation. Prof. V.P Puri talked about Resource management .The speakers dealt with the aspects of Technical Education and Curriculum Development in the life of the teacher and young entrepreneurs entrusted with the spirit to transform and serve the country. In the FDP Dr. S.K. Dhameja upgraded on the entrepreneurship skills that need to be developed in the students.
In addition, Dr.S.K.Bhattacharya talked about Networking with industry for curriculum implementation. The speaker of the last session Ms.Suditi Jindal emphasized on the Personality Development of students for their life and for fulfilling the demands of the top-of-the-line companies.
In the keynote to address, S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman, Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions inaugurated the FDP by lightening the lamp. He said that such workshops are chiefly the base for learning the technicalities for the start of advancement in teaching. He assured that he will try that such workshops will be organized time to time at Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions.

Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha, Executive, Member, Dean Colleges and Dr.Tanuja Srivastava, Director Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology thanked the speakers for motivating the teachers for working on effective curriculum. They further assured the teachers, that such seminars will be organized for them in future too. All the guidelines on curriculum implementation, evaluation, quality assurance, organizing and management will enable them to perform their responsibility of educating and guiding the students in a profound manner. This workshop will held to implement curriculum in an effective way and with exchange of thoughts in the whole process.

Google IN Campus Placement Drive

Google selected 5 students in campus placement drive
One of the renowned college -Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions has received much admiration for fulfilling its pledge by transforming the lives of its students into a successful future with continuous Placement drives in the campus. World’s top-notch company, Google conducted Pool Campus Placement drive at Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions. 5 students were selected after written test, group discussion and interview round. The selected students will get a annual package of Rs. 2 to 2.5 Lakh. The drive was conducted for the students of B. Tech. CSE & IT.The company official, Mr.Sumit Aggrawal(HR) and Ms.Nisha Aggrawal (HR)applauded the smooth conduct of placement drive for a massive number of students. They even praised the college infrastructure and colleges efforts for the better future of the students. It is worth mentioning that Google conducts placement drives in NITs and IITs, and BGIET is the first private college of Punjab that is visited by Google.

Indian ARMY Recruitment Rally

Students shortlisted by indian army
With a pledge to build the personalities of the students, Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutes is ranked amongst the best engineering colleges in the northern India. Under the banner of University Entry Scheme, a recruitment drive was organized by Indian Army in the campus of Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutes. In this drive 120 students from all trades of B.Tech course (pre-final, Batch 2015) from Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions, Rayat Bhara Group of Institutions, Asra Group of Colleges, participated with full spirit. In the beginning session the officers from Indian Army gave a power point presentation to the students in which they highlighted the importance of being recruited in Indian Army and our valuable contribution to bring pride and prestige to the nation. The students appeared for the selection process and than The Colonel from the team shortlisted the students through an interview. The officers from Indian Army showed their satisfaction on imparting the value based education to the students, pedagogical strategies followed by the professors and the critical ability of the students. They also appreciated the college infrastructure. They told that after their selection by Service Selection Board, the students would join as Commissioned Officers.

Working in Indian Army will not merely brighten their future but it will give a golden opportunity to them to fulfill their duties towards the nation.

6 Students placed in on-campus placement drive at Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions
Sangrur: Recognized as one of the best learning educational institutes of Malwa region, Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology has received much admiration for fulfilling its pledge by transforming the lives of its students into a successful future with continuous Placement drives in the campus. The drive was conducted for the students of B. Tech. Civil Engineering. This On-campus placement drive was conducted by Renowned company Jindal I.T.F. Jindal I.T.F is a well known company for the construction of water treatment plants .The company official, Mr. Sandeep Kumar ,HR and Administrative Personal, had an interactive session with the students and acquainted them with the establishment of the company and its working. The students were shortlisted through written test and group discussion .Further the students were selected with a machine test and face to face interview.It is worth mentioning that the company officials praised the infrastructure and smooth conduct of the placement drive in the campus.

Fresher’s party Esperanza 2014 was organized in BGIN for fresher students. S. Hakam Singh Jawandha (Chairman BGGI) and Mrs. Baljinder Kaur Jawandha were the “Chief Guests” of the occasion. Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha (Dean Colleges, BGGI) and Dr. (Mrs.) Suvreet Kaur Jawandha were “Guests of Honour” The main events of the party were modelling, Punjabi Cultural Dance, Western Dance, Sikkim Dance, Skit and Giddha. Miss Navdeep Kaur and Miss Harkaranpreet Kaur were honoured as Miss Fresher and Miss Personality. Mr. Gurjinder Singh & Mr. Sukhjinder Singh were honoured as Mr. Fresher and Mr. Personality respectively.

12 Students got placed in placement drive at BGIET
Recognized as one of the best learning educational institutes of Malwa region, Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology has received much admiration for fulfilling its pledge by transforming the lives of its students into a successful future with continuous Placement drives in the campus. The drive was conducted for the students of B. Tech. CSE, IT, ECE and EE.
The well recognized company Cyber stone Technology selected the students of B.Tech(CSE &IT). The drive started with a test, group discussion and personal interview. The company selected 7 students with an annual package of 1.44 lakh.
The company official, Mr. Abhishek (Head HR) from Wyan Industries Ptv.Ltd had an interactive session with the students of B.Tech. The head acquainted students with the establishment of the company and its working. 3 students were selected with an annual package of 1.44 lakh. They applauded the smooth conduct of the whole procedure for a massive number of students.
The Hindustan manufacturing division recruited the students from B.tech ECE and EE. The first round was cleared by 6 students and final selection was of 2 students .The company official Mr. Miraj mentioned it that the BGIET is working hard for the placements of the students. The whole process of the selection included written test, group discussion and final round was face to face interview.

AON HEWITT organised recruitment test at BGIET
Sangrur: With a vow to enlighten the young minds by entrusting education and providing the best career opportunities, Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology organized an online recruitment test for the renowned company, Aon Hewitt under a program which was conducted by Cocubes in which 120 students appeared for the recruitment process. The recruitment was held for the I.T, ECE, CSE & MCA students. The candidates after successfully clearing the online test and interview will join Aon Hewitt as ‘Set Up Configuration Specialist’; with a package of 3.5 Lakhs per annum. Lohri

The festival of Lohri is Punjabis’ cultural celebration which marks the culmination of winter by lighting fire and creating a bonfire to mark the onset of longer days. This harvest festival is also celebrated to mark both celebration and sharing. Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions celebrated Lohri in its campus with great joy and enthusiasm. The programme kicked off with Lohri Poojan and litting the sacred bonfire by S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman of BGGI. All the Directors and staff members of the constituent colleges of the BGGI Group were present on this occasion. The function started with a special assembly wherein importance of the festival was discussed. On the occasion, special arrangements were made. Immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab, dances and melodious songs were presented by staff members of all the constituent colleges of the BGGI Group. Groundnuts and sweets were also distributed among the staff members.
S. Hakam Singh Jawandha congratulated all the staff members on the festival. Throwing light on the festival of Lohri, he said that the festival marks the victory of good over evil and prompts people to be thankful for God’s provisions. Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha, Dean Colleges, BGGI, said that the function was planned keeping women empowerment in mind. He called today’s celebration as “Betiyon ki Lohri” dedicated to women dignity.
