International Woman Day

With a drive to carry forward its services for the betterment of the society, BGGI organized World International Women Day in collaboration with Deputy Commissioner Office, Sangrur. The programme was inaugurated by lamp lightening ceremony by Mr. Rajinder Singh Batra ADC Sangrur and S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions .On this occasion Mr. Pawan Kumar CDPO Malerkotla, Mrs. Rakesh Phawa CDPO Bhawanigarh, Executive Member Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha were present. Mr. Rajinder Singh Batra said that it is essential that for the progress of the society the women should not be discriminated and the society should avoid female foeticide. S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, Chairman Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions said that the main aim of today’s function is to raise global awareness among the society and avoid discrimination in context to women of the society. He said that for saving the girl child, single girl child fellowship is being given to the girls in BGGI. On the start of the function CDPO, Malerkotla Mr. Pawan Kumar gave presentation on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. He said that by giving education to the girls we can keep a balance in society as future depends on them. On this occasion, Nariender Kala Manch, Faridkot presented a play on ‘Chiriya Da Chamba’ on the theme of female feticide. Distinguished women achievers were also rewarded for their commendable contributions in diverse fields.
